The Parish Hall was full of members and visitors for the February meeting of Weston Favell Evening WI. Following the business items, members were fascinated to heat all about the life and times of a Suffragette from Leicester. The speaker, Mr Peter Barratt, was her great grandson, so the memories and life story had a special poignancy. He closed by reminding us that the women who battled so hard in the early days of the twentieth century would wish us all to use our votes!
There was the customary flower arrangement (above) and some lovely items on the Sales table (below), then the competition was judged, the raffle drawn and everyone enjoyed a tea or coffee and time to exchange news.
Please think about joining us for the next meeting on 10 March, when we will be having a talk by Mrs Denise Rowe on Reflexology. As usual, our competition is related to the subject of the talk - this time it will be A Cure for Smelly Feet! We look forward to seeing you.
